Nokia Launches E6 Business Oriented Smartphone
Alongside the Nokia X7 entertainment phone announced today, Nokia also launched the E6 business oriented smartphone also sporting, as the X7, the brand new version of Symbian called Anna (aka PR2.0).
“Aimed at business and general users who need to get things done while they’re on the move”, the E6 is trying to take a hit at the BlackBerry market with a form factor in which RIM is a definite leader. The E6 features a 2.46-inch LCD capacitive touch display with VGA resolution of 640 by 480 pixels.
There’s 8GB of internal memory as well as microSD support for cards of up to 32GB capacity. Added are WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 and the operation is handled by a 1500mAh battery, rated for up to a month on standby. There’s an eight-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash, full focus (EDOF), 2X digital zoom (with 3X in video mode) and 720p video recording capability.
Nokia also added a free, global, walk and drive navigation solution utilizing the latest generation of its own Ovi Maps. The smartphone will be available starting the second quarter of the year (third quarter for US) and will go for 340.
