Windows Phone 7 Group SMS App Offers Mass-Texting Solution
We’ve been looking at some of the promotional videos for the Android Sidekick 4G lately, and one of its touted features is the ability to send a single text message out to a large group of users. Whether you need to notify co-workers or plan outings with friends, there are dozens of situations in which group texting sounds really appealing. The Sidekick aside, there are other third-party apps Android users have access to that grant the same kind of abilities, but a much smaller selection’s available for Windows Phone 7 users. Today we heard about Group SMS, a new mass-texting app with a slick UI.
The app lets you build groups out of contacts already stored on your phone, storing them in the app for later use. When you want to send out a mass text, you just start up Group SMS, compose your message, and select which group should receive it. Since it’s brand-new, there are still plenty of changes coming, like planned support for Google and Windows Live groups and compatibility with additional languages.
Group SMS is available in the Windows Phone Market now for about a dollar.
