LG Optimus 2X Hits European Retail For About $720
LG’s Optimus 2X has been available for pre-order since January, and with those stocks arriving late last month, it’s not surprising that the phone is now up for sale at European smartphone retailers, sporting a price that works out to about $720.
The premiere dual-core smartphone, the Optimus 2X packs a Tegra 2 under its hood, with each core running at 1GHz, a 512MB of RAM. Storage capacity is at 8GB, expandable with microSD, and it’s got 8-megapixel rear and 1.3-megapixel front cameras. While the main camera will handle 1080p recording, there are apparently still some performance issues, though those may be remedied later with a software update.
With only European 3G band support in its radio, US customers will want to hold off for a compatible model to be produced; T-Mobile will start selling its re-badged but essential unchanged G2x shortly, with April 20 as one rumored release date.
We recently got our hands on an Optimus 2X and were a bit enamored with phone’s design, solid construction, and good-looking display. You can check out both our unboxing as well as our first hardware tour to get a closer look at the model.
