HTC Working On Fix For Thunderbolt Video Recording Audio Issues
What have you thought of the HTC Thunderbolt’s video recording abilities? Apparently, many users have noticed issues with the audio in video they shoot cutting out unexpectedly in a noisy environment, or being way too quiet. Worry not, for HTC has not only found the source of these troubles, but is working on a software fix.
The problem seems to be with the noise cancellation algorithms used in the default video recording software. Under the right conditions (or, rather, wrong conditions), the audio portion of videos you shoot can be barely audible. Like many phones, the Thunderbolt tries to discriminate audio you intend to record from background noise, but it looks like its rejecting too much as this unwanted noise.
HTC has suggested trying another video recording app while it prepares its fix. We’ve also heard that you can try covering up one microphone, defeating the noise cancellation software, as a stopgap measure.
