Android users on the U.S. Cellular network are finally joining other Galaxy S owners now that Android 2.2 Froyo is available for the Samsung Mesmerize.

While we’re unsure what took U.S. Cellular so long to finally release the update, but that’s water under the bridge. After applying the update, Mesmerize users will get the following benefits:

+ Microsoft Exchange Support: Fully integrated support for Microsoft Exchange (e-mail and calendar)

+ Adobe Flash 10.1 Support: The addition of Adobe Flash to Android OS 2.2 is a major upgrade for Google’s mobile platform. This new feature is going to allow users to access the vast majority of video and games on the Web to further enhance the experience they have (users should upgrade to Flash 2.2 in the Android Market as soon as possible)

+ Portable Hotspot: For those with a tethering plan) anywhere between 5-8 users can connect to U.S. Cellular’s network through the Mobile Hotspot. Being able to share a 3G Web connection with other users will undoubtedly come in handy in a professional setting when a team needs a Web connection

+ Android Market Updates: Customers who enjoy browsing the Android Market for new applications will be able to save applications to the microSD card on the device. This exciting new feature is application dependent, and get automatic updates for selected apps

+ Improved browsing experience: Customers will enjoy faster downloads of web pages with Android 2.2
