Previously we compared the HTC Thunderbolt with the iPhone and Inspire 4G. Moving on with our series, we wanted to compare a Windows Phone 7 device, in this case the Samsung Focus, with the HTC Thunderbolt.

Comparing these devices is somewhat of an apples-to-oranges comparison, since they’re such vastly different devices. In terms of pricing, the Focus is now just $99, while the Thunderbolt costs $249. For data plans, you can get the 2GB $25/month data plan on the Focus, or opt for the unlimited $30/month data plan on the Thunderbolt.

Windows Phone 7 and Android are quite different. For the ultimate in versatility, Android is tough to beat. But if you’re looking for something a bit smoother with access to Xbox Live and Zune services, the Focus is the right phone for you.

If you’re looking for the fastest phone possible, the Thunderbolt reigns supreme with its very snappy web browser, plus LTE 4G data speeds which can climb to the 6-8mbps range when you’re in a 4G coverage area. Then again, if you want fantastic battery life, you’ll want to spring for the Samsung Focus, which can easily go a day and a half with heavy use.
