Pretty much like the previous rumors and leaks implied, Nokia has announced the Astound Symbian device that will be coming exclusively to T-Mobile on April 6 for $79.99 — basically your Nokia C7.

The handset features an eight-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash and 720p HD video recording capability and a 3.5-inch capacitive AMOLED display protected by ultrathin, damage-resistant glass. Nokia also added its own, free turn-by-turn navigation — pre-loaded with automotive grade maps for the entire U.S., Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean — as well as access to the Ovi Store where thousands of free and paid apps are available. “Offering the features of a high-end smartphone at a great price, the Nokia Astound is sure to appeal to a broad array of consumers” said Andrew Morrison, vice president, product management, T-Mobile USA.

The Astound will be available for $79.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate card with a two-year service agreement and qualifying voice and data plan directly and exclusively at T-Mobile retail stores and online.
