Mozilla Firefox 4 RC Available for Android and Maemo

Getting faster with each beta release, Firefox 4 has now entered Release Candidate (RC) stage. The release candidate brings faster scrolling, better responsiveness with Firefox Sync and improves the overall user experience.

The RC brings much needed support for text-reflow, which wraps text to fit the screen when zooming in, allowing you to read a page without having to continually scroll left and right. Also new is the shrinking of several UI elements, such as the form input suggestions and the find-in-page bar, which allow you to see more of the web page while using the on-screen keyboard. Copy and paste support has been extended to HTML form fields also, previously limited to the URL field.

Unfortunately Firefox 4 still lacks support for flash and with few add-ons ported, there still remains work to be done. Fortunately we can expect quick improvements as Mozilla has maintained a grueling release schedule for the beta releases, putting out as many as two per month. Mozilla is looking for users to run their release candidate through the paces and provide feedback to prepare for it’s final release. Supporting 10 languages and with an available character encoding override, Firefox is now more widely usable by international users as well.
