Gevey SIM Unlocks iPhone 4 On Baseband 2.10.04 / 3.10.01

Call this the answer to the prayers of many, hopefully. It seems the Gevey SIM card, which is sort of like the old Rebel SIM card that many of us used in the past to unlock our phones through hardware, has just proven to unlock an iPhone 4 on the diehard basebands 2.10.04 / 3.10.01.

This is not your typical Jailbreak + Ultrasn0w unlock solution that we’re used to. The Gevey SIM Card is a little, thin as paper, SIM that you place on your iPhone 4 bellow the Micro SIM you want to use, which will be a T-Mobile SIM in the case of many in the US. The special SIM will unlock your baseband through an emergency dialing exploit discovered.

For those of us who are used to the old Rebel SIM Card, we all remember how much of a pain it was for the SIM Tray to get stuck on the iPhone if you didn’t know what you were doing. In this case though, the manufacturer was smart enough to include a special SIM tray that fits perfectly in the iPhone 4 with both cards inside.

Sadly we can’t guarantee that it will work on your iPhone 4. The card costs $70 here, so proceed at your own risk. I’m personally on the list of those who wants a carrier unlock on Baseband 2.10.04, so if you don’t mind waiting for me to prove it works, I’ll keep you all posted.
