Bell Motorola Atrix Also Lacking HSUPA?

The Motorola Atrix (sans 4G) is available in Canada via Bell Mobility and will go for $169.95 (around the same amount in US dollars) on a three year contract, that is with HSUPA disabled according to reports.

We’ve seen a game of words with AT&T’s denial of capping 4G uploads on the US Motorola Atrix 4G though “the ATRIX is a HSUPA-capable device” the carrier said. According to the early adopters, the Bell Motorola Atrix doesn’t do HSUPA as upload speed tests barely reach 400kbps. Whether this is a software or a carrier issue is yet unknown and so is the possibility of fixing it — when and if.

While HSUPA doesn’t affect your download speeds — as it only refers to uploads (High-Speed Uplink Packet Access) — you will surely feel the lower speeds when uploading a picture to your Facebook, Twitter photo service or a video to YouTube.
