Nokia E6 Pics Show New Case, Updated Symbian^3 OS
Details are still sparse on Nokia’s upcoming E6-00 Symbian smartphone, but a new image of the device has come to our attention, revealing a glimpse of what appears to be an updated version of Symbian^3.
We’re used to seeing three little dots at the bottom of the Symbian home screen, representing different screens. The software on the E6 bumps that up to four, making us think that Nokia is prepping the phone with a new revision of Symbian^3.
This image also gives us a look at the E6 with a much more handsome facade, adorned in classic black rather than the bland champagne mess we saw in the last pics of the E6. There’s still that unnecessarily bulky look to the phone, but it’s certainly less objectionable in this new skin.
Some leaked specifications have given us a bit of insight into the phone’s hardware profile, though we can’t yet vouch for how accurate they may be. Supposedly, the E6 will run off a 680MHz ARM11 CPU and cram a full VGA 640 x 480 pixel count into that tiny 2.6-inch screen. Beyond that, all we’ve heard is that the phone will feature an eight-megapixel camera.
There’s no information available yet pointing to any potential release date.
