Homebrew Windows Phone 7 Device Manager Previewed

Julien Schapman has been preparing a homebrew Windows Phone 7 Device Manager for some time now, as we told you back in January, and the work seems to be close to finished with a preview video he posted on YouTube.

In this first preview video, we can see how the Device Manager behaves in certain scenarios. It will automatically recognize your Windows Phone 7 device when you plug it in using the provided USB cable. In a Windows Vista/7-like way, the bottom part of the screen is displaying general information about the device while the rest of the screen looks like the good old Windows Mobile Device Center.

For a demo of the other features, such as list of installed apps, on-PC file explorer, detailed phone info, screenshot support, sending of messages — SMS, MMS and Email — custom ringtones, application installs and more, check out the video below! Would you fancy a similar experience out of the box, without the need to unlock?
