Sprint To Launch The HTC 7 Pro As HTC Arrive Today?

First time we’ve heard about the HTC Arrive was with the occasion of bringing you a couple of trademarks. Later it turned out that the HTC Arrive might be a Windows Phone 7 device hitting Sprint alongside a device about which only a name is known, the-called Kyocera Echo.

We know Sprint is preparing an “industry first” event today — which of course we’ll be covering — so we could be inclined to believe that a CDMA Windows Phone 7 could indeed be an industry first. In this case, could the HTC Arrive be the Sprint carrier name of the HTC 7 Pro? Sprint Reps told PhoneScoop that the 7 Pro will not be the final name for the device so it might as well be HTC Arrive.

Just to remind you, the HTC 7 Pro was referenced at the Windows Phone 7 keynote as being a Sprint exclusive. Since then, the European version got unboxed early while the original Sprint version was pictured at the beginning of January.

On the other hand, we need to remind you that Brandon Watson, Director of Developer Relations with Microsoft, sitting in at a podcast said that CDMA will be available sometime before the end of the first half of the year. The platform compatibility has been added alright to the Windows Phone Developer Tools January Update but it wouldn’t make sense for Sprint to present a device at this moment and make it available in about four or five months.

Again, on another note, the first Windows Phone 7 update was rumored — among other dates — for today too. In case Microsoft pushes it out by the time Sprint’s event starts, we might be certain that the Windows Phone 7 handset will be indeed what they will show off (and Brandon Watson will be proven wrong).

With all the rumors and speculations above, what do you think Sprint will be showing off as an industry first? When will the Sprint CDMA Windows Phone 7 hit?
