Samsung Vibrant 4G Coming To T-Mobile With 21Mbps Speeds?
According to a recent leak, T-Mobile will be allegedly getting a Samsung-made Vibrant 4G smartphone, which in fact is just another Samsung Galaxy S variant, a refresh to the T-Mobile Vibrant we reviewed earlier.
According to hear-say, the device will be able to deliver 4G HSPA+ speeds of 21Mbps on Magenta in addition to a front facing video camera offering T-Mobile Video Chat powered by Qik. Other than that, the handset is advertised to ship with Google’s Android 2.2 Froyo platform, which, even if it’s a step-up from the current Vibrant OS — running Eclair — is still one version number below Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
T-Mobile already offers two 4G-capable smartphones, the myTouch4G and the G2 but they seem to be capped at 14.4 Mbps. A 21Mbps-capable Vibrant could indeed be a nice addition, of course, in case the user pool did not turn its back on Samsung due to the lack of Froyo updates.
