NEC To Release World’s Thinnest Android Smartphone?

Looks like thickness is one of the trending topics these days after LG named their Optimus Black “the world’s thinnest” — with its 9.2mm thickness — just to come out second after Samsung’s brand new Galaxy S II measuring 8.49mm.

NEC is preparing to reveal an Android Smartphone with the occasion of an upcoming DoCoMo press event and, someone over excited was kind enough to leak out a few slides related to the device. NEC MEDIAS N-04C will measure 7.7mm in thickness and sport a 4-inch screen and pack a 1Seg TV Tuner, NFC service while being powered by Android 2.2 Froyo. Whether there will be more to the story than the leaked shots and rumors or not, it will all become clear in two days at the event.

While having a hands-on with the Samsung Galaxy S II at this year’s MWC, we found that even the Galaxy S follow up is a bit too thin — at least according to my personal taste and preference. Shave off almost another millimeter and let us know how would you like the NEC and its thin form factor?
