Two Budget Android Phones Coming to T-Mobile USA

T-Mobile announced at MWC two new Android-powered smartphones for those on tight budgets (or who are prone to breaking more expensive devices).

T-Mobile Move

The Move is being touted as “the most affordable Android device” available, though no specific pricing has been announced yet.

“Small” is the keyword when describing this phone. It only has a 2.8-inch, 320×240 display. The processor is 600MHz running Android 2.2. Its radio should handle theoretical speeds of 7.2Mbps, but the camera is a little laughable at only 2 megapixels.

Samsung Galaxy Mini

The Samsung Galaxy Mini is powered by Android 2.2 with a decently sized 3.2-inch screen. It’s made less expensive than its Galaxy S big-brother by only running a 600GHz ARM processor, a “low-budget 3G radio” which only allows download speeds of 3.6 Mbps (which isn’t anything to be laughed at).

Where things get silly with both phones is in their with storage. PCWorld is reporting that both will ship with “150MB of internal memory and can be expanded to 32MB with external storage”. While we wouldn’t be surprised about the 150MB internal storage, we suspect you’ll be able to add your own 32GB microsdhc card. I haven’t seen a 32MB microsd anywhere, so this is likely a typo.

Both phones should be available in late-Spring or early-Summer 2011 and are expected to cost US$50-75 on contract.
