Destined for Verizon, the successor to Motorola’s Droid X, the Droid X2 was shown today in a series of leaked photos courtesy of TheMobiZone. Full specifications of the device were also posted, along with confirmation that the bootloader remains locked as it was on the Droid X.

The device is rumored to carry an NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core 1GHz processor, 1GB RAM, and a 4.3-inch qHD 540×960 LCD display (which is the same size and resolution as the Motorola Droid Bionic). It is also reported to carry an HDMI port for HD output to an external display, and a built-in FM radio. Interestingly, there is no LTE radio present on the device, presumably to create some product differentiation in favor of the Droid Bionic.

Droid X2 features an eight-megapixel rear-facing camera with flash, and lacks a front facing camera. It is pictured running Froyo 2.2.1, but is rumored to receive an update to Gingerbread prior to launch. For the user interface, Motorola has included it’s MOTOBLUR modifications, running what appears to be the same build as the Bionic.

The device carries a locked bootloader, similar to many other of Motorola’s recent offerings. The device is rumored to launch in Q2 2011.
