HTC 7 Mozart Hitting T-Mobile “Really Soon”: Report
TmoNews is reporting that that the HTC 7 Mozart Windows Phone 7 will land on T-Mobile “really soon,” possibly in a choice of 8GB or 16GB capacities — although that latter detail has not been confirmed. Mozart has been rumored to hit Magenta since pre-WP7 debut, yet so far the only Microsoft handset on that carrier is HTC’s HD7. If this does indeed come to pass, it can probably be seen as a win for Redmond, with the inference being that HD7 is selling well enough to add another Windows Phone model to the lineup.
While Mozart’s specs are obviously quite similar to the rest of the WP7 family, it does offer an eight-megapixel camera and slim, metallic frame that makes it one of the more attractive launch devices — more so, in our opinion, than the Verizon-bound Trophy.
As a side note, with AT&T and probably Verizon dropping the “7” from HTC’s 7 Surround and 7 Trophy, respectively, we wonder if T-Mobile will do the same with 7 Mozart. In fact, we have a suspicion that it may not ship as Mozart at all, but Melody — you’ll remember HTC trademarking “HTC 7 Melody” late last year, when we noted the linguistic similarity to “Mozart.”
