Windows Phone 7 HTC Hub Hacked, Available For All

With Windows Phone 7 hardware requirements, all devices have more or less the same internals but it comes down to the OEM software offerings that make the difference between the Redmond platform powered smartphones.

The Taiwanese company’s own HTC Hub — which now supports live tiles for weather updates — has been hacked and made available for all HTC and even non-HTC Windows Phone 7 devices. This should ring a bell (or more) to HTC and Microsoft but the application is available as a RAR archive to download and use on jailbroken Windows Phone 7 handsets. Just to refresh your memory, the ChevronWP7 unlocker has been pulled by the developers due to ongoing discussions about Microsoft allegedly offering some level of support for homebrew apps. The file available over at XDA Developers does not support the live tile though — it’s an older version.
