Froyo for Epic 4G? Sprint Says Hold Tight

Samsung’s Galaxy S phones in the U.S. have had a hard time getting Android 2.2 Froyo deplyed to them. Some of the smaller carriers have already pushed updates to their Galaxy S phones, but the big for (T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint) are all lagging behind.

Earlier today we told you of T-Mobile’s plan to start rolling out Froyo to their Galaxy S starting tomorrow. Sprint, possibly caving in to peer pressure, was quick to reassure owners of their Galaxy S, the Epic 4G, that they haven’t forgotten about you, and are working with Samsung to get the update ready — but only after “it meets rigorous testing criteria” so that they can ensure a “quality experience”.

Epic 4G users: Froyo is still in the works. We’re working closely with @SamsungMobileUS to ensure the best possible customer experience.

Sprint & Samsung are working to release Froyo for Epic ASAP, but only after it meets rigorous testing criteria to ensure quality experience.
