Samsung Galaxy S Android 2.2.1 Froyo Update Available
While owners of Samsung Galaxy S U.S. carrier variants still struggle for the Android 2.2 Froyo update, which is allegedly being held back because of costs, the unlocked version is getting an Android 2.2.1 Froyo update as we speak.
According to reports, aside from bug and security fixes, the new Android 2.2.1 update is also bringing some performance improvements. The update should be available via the KIES software but there currently are no reports as per what regions have access to the update. If you can get your hands on the update, let us know of the region you are in as well as the improvements you see after the update is applied.
Note: according to several reports and comments, applying the update will end your superuser access so if you have a rooted Galaxy S, you might hold off for a while.
We’ve posted about the update allegedly fixing RFS problems but, as new regions are added, we’re curious to find out about your location as per update availability as well as improvements you see.
