INQ Cloud Touch ‘Facebook Phone’ Gets Wi-Fi Certified, Lacks 802.11n

We’ve told you that the first (of two) Facebook Phone has received Bluetooth certification last week and now it’s time for Wi-Fi Alliance to grant the approval for the now only referred to as “mobile phone” T2-219U.

With both approvals from Bluetooth SIG and Wi-Fi Alliance, the handset is more than just a rumor now. The INQ Cloud Touch, running Android, is also known as the “Facebook Phone” with model number T2-219U and is definitely on track for a (hopefully not too distant) future release.

According to the certificate, the handset will only support 2.4GHz IEEE 802.11b and IEEE 802.11g wireless frequencies, so the newer, faster, standard is somehow left out. An unlimited data plan might help compensate on that as Facebook alone doesn’t need such high speeds but we’re yet to see some frequencies pop up, maybe with an upcoming FCC certification.
