App Allows SIM Unlocking of Galaxy S Phones
SIM unlock codes are essentially “keys” that, when input, allow your device to work with any carrier’s SIM. Traditionally you obtain one of these “keys” from your carrier — at their discretion. It’s also spawned a third-party market that can provide these codes — for a price.
While we’ve heard rumors passed in hushed voices that some Samsung Galaxy S phones have SIM unlock codes stored in a secret location on the phone, this solution takes a novel approach to SIM unlocking your device with an app. Instead of asking someone for the key to the lock, this app simply tells the phone it’s already unlocked. To do so you’ll need to be rooted and BusyBox installed, and you’ll need an internet connection.
