Report: iOS 4.3 To Bring Wi-Fi Hotspot To GSM iPhone Soon?

Aside from all the buzz today about Verizon finally getting an iPhone 4, we couldn’t help but notice that Apple will release a variant iOS 4.2.5 with this new iPhone to give it the Personal Wireless Hotspot feature that Verizon is offering. If you’re still not clear as to what the difference is between this and tethering, let’s just say Verizon will give you Internet Tethering on steroids since you’ll be able to share your internet connection through the phone’s Wi-Fi antenna with up to five devices at a time.

A peculiar thing is seeing Apple release a separate version of the iOS for the same device, if we called both iPhone 4’s twins. Rumors are that this feature won’t be exclusive to Verizon, and that we’ll see it roll out to AT&T customers, or we’ll at least see the feature be included in the GSM version, for the future release of iOS 4.3.

Our biggest bet is that since it’s not likely for Apple to release iOS differences, we’ll most probably see iOS 4.3 roll out soon after the Verizon iPhone starts selling this February 10th. No rumored release dates, but things most likely will happen in close time frames.
