Sprint has made the HTC EVO Shift 4G official as the QWERTY Android smartphone — subject to many recent leaks and rumors — will be available starting January 9.

Pretty much like the RadioShack rumor implied, the device will be available starting this Sunday and will go for $149.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate and activation on a new two-year service agreement plus a data plan with the required $10 Premium Data Add-On.

According to its dedicated webpage, the device sports a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 3.6-inch WVGA (800 x 480) screen, 2GB ROM, 512MB RAM, a Qualcomm MSM7630 800Mhz processor, five-megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording, microSD card slot that can take up to 32GB, WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, Digital compass, G-Sensor, proximity sensor, light sensor, GPS and 3G/4G capable radio with mobile hotspot capability. It runs HTC’s Sense on top of Google Android 2.2 Froyo and it does not sport a front facing camera. Anyone excited?
