Blew all your cash on presents, travel, and entertaining? Desperate for a few good deals to ease you into 2011? If you’re a BlackBerry user, you’re in luck, as Groupon has finally released an app for RIM devices.

If you’re not familiar with the site, Groupon offers deals that leverage the buying power of a big group of consumers. A company promoting itself through Groupon will provide the site’s users with the opportunity to snag a valuable deal – say, a restaurant selling $35 coupons that are redeemable for $70 worth of food – but only if a certain number of Groupon users agree to the deal. Even with the company losing money on the offer, getting enough people talking about the business can be even more valuable for future sales.

The Groupon app shows you the locally available deals for your market, right now with coverage hitting 130 cities. You’ll also find nationwide deals from larger retailers. After choosing a deal you’re interested in, you can buy the coupon straight through the Groupon app. To redeem it, you just have to show your phone, displaying the purchased coupon, to the retailer; no printing required.

Groupon is available now through the BlackBerry App World.
