LG announced today that the LG Optimus 2X Tegra2 powered dual-core Android smartphone will be available in Europe starting next month, after its official launch last week.

The device, also known before as the LG Star, will feature an exclusive collection of music and ringtones written by movie soundtrack composer Ennio Morricone, consisting of 15 ringtones composed specifically for LG and 10 of his best-known tunes from the world of cinema — with free images and video clips coming also next year. Nothing was mentioned related to pricing but we have a general idea thanks to the Swedish etailer that listed the device for roughly $731.

The LG Optimus 2X is also hitting Korea, its homeland, next month and now European fans of technology can have the first dual-core smartphone as early as next month. Besides the 1GHz Tegra2 processor, the smartphone sports a 4-inch WVGA screen, 8GB of internal memory expandable with up to 32GB using the microSD card slot, 8-megapixel rear camera with 1080p recording capability, 1.3-megapixel front camera for self-portrait and video calling, HDMI mirroring, all powered by a 1,500mAh battery. It currently runs Google Android 2.2 Froyo hopefully it will be upgradeable to Android 2.3 Gingerbread soon.
