LG Optimus 7 Runs With the Battery Taken Out

We found out something interesting related to the LG Optimus 7 handset running Windows Phone 7, namely that it runs without a battery. Well, sort of!

With other devices running different operating systems, pulling the battery while this is being charged and the phone is on instantly cuts the power and the phones will turn off. With the LG Optimus 7, pulling the battery while charging will leave the device functioning. There might be an explanation involving electronic schematics: maybe the current doesn’t go through the battery and then to the phone but the other way around – maybe also related to Windows Phone 7 being responsible for charging the battery. Anyways, filed under Miscellaneous, we’ve got a neat trick here! Does your phone do the same? Let us know in the comments below!
