Best Buy Offering iPhone 3GS for FREE Tomorrow

The last-generation Apple iPhone 3GS may have seen its time in the sun come and go, but it’s certainly still a viable smartphone. That’s why it’s so surprising to see, especially considering the rarity of big discounts on Apple hardware, Best Buy Mobile literally giving the phone away to customers signing a two-year contract.

This one-day-only offer runs tomorrow, Friday the 10th, not giving you much time to decide if you want to take the plunge. There’s a refreshing lack of restrictions impeding the offer, letting existing AT&T customers upgrade their phones to the 3GS or add one as an additional line. You won’t find any hassles like mail-in-rebates to deal with either; just sign up and get a free iPhone.

Even without the bells-and-whistles of the iPhone 4’s Retina display and FaceTime camera, the 3GS still has plenty to offer. If you can live with being 18 months behind-the-times, you should be able to keep yourself plenty busy with all the App Store has to offer. This might be just the phone for the curious technophobe in your life; get them hooked on Apple’s polished UI without wasting money on a phone that’s more powerful than they’d really need.
