Motorola Olympus Poses for Photo Shoot, Confirmed for AT&T?

An upcoming Motorola smartphone purportedly going by the codename Olympus has apparently been caught in its most revealing photo shoot to date, just hours after AT&T either mistakenly or accidentally acknowledged that the handset would be arriving in December or January. Gizmodo has published a gallery full of images which it reportedly acquired from a tipster who claims to have picked the rumored dual-core Tegra 2-powered device up at a flea market, of all places (sounds like another unfortunate “lost at a bar” incident to us). While the images don’t reveal all that much new information, we are able to get a look at the sides of the Defy-esque handset, one of which sports the same microUSB and HDMI ports as the Droid X (but seemingly situated upside down).

We’re also able to see the same front-facing camera visible in previous photographs — presumably making this AT&T’s second video-calling-capable offering after the iPhone 4 — as well as an AT&T hotspot app that would seem to confirm the eventual provider. We’d previously heard that Olympus would be packing a display whose resolution exceeded FWVGA, indicating that it would ship with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, said to support up to 1280 x 720 pixels.

Olympus was first tipped by Android and Me in early fall, when it was affectionately dubbed the Terminator because of its supposed Tegra 2 (T2) CPU.
