With everyone preparing for Black Friday and Cyber Monday marking the beginning of the Holiday shopping frenzy, Microsoft is committed to bringing roughly 3,000 Windows Phone 7 applications and games to your shopping carts this weekend.

Microsoft knows “that many Windows Phone developers have gone to great lengths to ensure that their apps and games are in Windows Phone Marketplace this holiday season as well”. Speaking of developers, the Windows Phone Developers blog notes that there has been an 80% increase in registered devs since September, bringing the worldwide total to over 15,000.

With developers at work and nearly 3,000 applications and games out by the end of the device availability month, we are looking ahead for a dramatic growth in software choices and makes us wonder, will the Marketplace list 6,000 apps by the end of 2010?
