Multi-touch Keyboard for Samsung Galaxy S Phones

One of the nice things about having a large screen is having a larger on-screen keyboard. Once the keyboard is large enough to facilitate more than one finger tapping the functionality and convenience of multi-touch comes in to play. Such is the case on the Droid X. But other devices can benefit from the increased usability that comes with having a multi-touch keyboard.

That’s what XDA-Developer camalot thought when he started trying to port the multi-touch keyboard from the Droid X to the Samsung Vibrant, a Galaxy S phone.

The problem he ran into was the size of the letters on the keys: they were simply too small to be usable. After several iterations he’s finally got a working copy on his Vibrant, but should work just fine on any Galaxy S series phone.

Additionally, if you’re not fond of the stock color-scheme, he’s got four options for you to choose from. If you’re interested in trying it out, download the .APK from the thread, copy it to your phone, open it with your file manager of choice (I prefer AndExplorer), enable it in Settings, and select it as your preferred Input Method.

If you like it, make sure you give camalot some praise!
