Apple Might Be Suing 17-year Old For White iPhone 4 Parts?
With all the drama around the white iPhone 4 which Apple initially delayed till Spring 2011 and then all of a sudden removed from its website, the Cupertino company is allegedly preparing for a law-suit according to rumors in order to protect the white iPhone 4 trademarks.
Apple might bring a 17-year old New York resident to court claiming $130,000 — the amount earned by the teenager after selling more than 500 white iPhone 4 devices according to himself — because the college student offered a kit containing white iPhone 4 parts, namely white colored front and back panels, white home button as well as tools and instructions for achieving the white version of the phone, all for $300 (plus the cost of the phone). According to the cited source, the New Yorker somehow managed to convince the iPhone manufacturer Foxconn to send him the parts necessary to putting his kit together but so far was not contacted by Apple but received a rather threatening letter from a private eye “who has told the teen that his parts are either stolen or counterfeit”. This is not even to be filed under capital R(umor) but rather capital G(ossip)!
