HTC Trophy Coming to Verizon ‘Early 2011’?
We just heard that Verizon was looking forward to stocking Windows Phone 7 devices, and now it looks like the HTC 7 Trophy will be one of those handsets. According to a pamphlet intended for Microsoft employees and published by Engadget, qualified buyers can pre-order the phone by December 31st for delivery in “early 2011” — which is classified as the launch window. Redmond workers are paying “only” $199.99 for the 3.8-inch WVGA model, reads the document, which suggests that it will cost even more for average consumers (VZW just priced its LG Optimus One, the Vortex, higher than the other two providers carrying it).
With a five-megapixel camera, 512MB of RAM, and 16GB of locked-down storage, the Trophy — at least the GSM version — is a completely run-of-the-mill WP7 launch device, offering none of the extras of the Mozart (camera), Pro (keyboard), Surround (speaker), or HD7 (screen). However, this pamphlet does suggest that it’s a quad-band world phone, which will certainly be an attractive feature for travelers or folks with multiple lines.
