Samsung Galaxy S Froyo Rollout Begins Once Again

Samsung’s Galaxy S has seen unrivaled drama in its torturous path to an Android 2.2 Froyo upgrade, but now it seems like the rollout has begun for real, according to a tweet from Samsung UK. The update had been originally scheduled to start all the way back in September, and then after several unofficial leaks, it finally made its way into the Samsung Kies upgrade system at the end of August. And then it was pulled. Flash forward to the middle of October, when Samsung once again rolled out the ROM to much fanfare. And six days later, pulled it again. Even the release of the Galaxy’s Froyo source code was not without incident: it too was pulled just a day after being published.

We’re not really sure if Samsung will even be able to follow through with its plans at this point, but worldwide rollouts are expected to wrap up by the end of the month, when even the four US variants should get the Froyo treatment. You know, just in time for Gingerbread.
