iOS 4.2 Coming November 7th According To Apple Support?

Nothing like a hot thursday rumor to make your drool over it during the weekend. Apple has just released a Support document in which it acknowledges they do have problems with making the iPhone swap times during DST in regions like the UK and Australia, where people have recently missed their alarms and have arrived late for work. What’s interesting about this document is that aside from offering the temporary solution of disabling repeating alarms on your device, it also mentions that this will no longer be necessary as of November 7th.

So,.. given Apple is not a big fan of offering patches on their devices without a full OS upgrade, (though we know it has happened in the past once),.. all we can assume is that November 7th will be the date when iOS 4.2 will be released. Surely this is the date DST ends in the US, so it could also be the case that the devices are set only with the US policy, but given GM Candidate releases are usually just days away from final OS releases, we do hope this is the case.

Remember, us iPhone and iPod Touch owners don’t expect much from iOS 4.2, but the fact that we will get AirPlay, AirPrint, and the Dev-Team’s carrier unlock for iOS 4.2 are enough to keep many of us on the edge of our seats.

Let’s hope this rumor is true.
