iOS 4.2 Carrier Unlock To Exist Just Days After Release?

MuscleNerd, the Dev-Team genius behind the famous UltraSn0w carrier unlock many of us (Yeah that includes me) drool for on every iOS update has just confirmed that their work is so advanced on the iOS 4.2 beta (now Gold Master Candidate) that he feels he’ll just need two days to have it rolling out for the iPhone 3GS and 3G sporting baseband 05.14.02.

Sadly this means iOS 4.1 won’t see the dawn of a carrier unlock, but given iOS 4.2 brings some additional enhancements like AirTunes and AirPrint, the news are all but bad. The only tough part for all of us on the iPhone 4 crowd is that baseband 02.10.04 that came with iOS 4.1 isn’t that easy to break. He confirms he will get it done, but that it will take a bit more time than just the two days he’ll need for the 3GS and 3G devices.

I’m on the list of those who want iOS 4.2 and who’d love the carrier unlock, so sit tight and count on the fact that whenever everything is released, you’ll be the first to know through our coverage.
