Google Nexus Two Rumors Surge; Samsung Made, Galaxy S Design
Alright, until I see shots of this phone in the wild, and until any of these shots have the words “Nexus Two” stamped in hardware or software, I’ll call this a rumor. Gizmodo claims to have seen Google’s next try into selling a phone, this time called the Nexus Two. If the report is real, there are lots of changes in comparison to the legendary Nexus One.
First of all, this time it’s apparently made by Samsung, and the demo shot offered looks a lot like another Galaxy S Android phone. I wouldn’t hold my breath on considering the shot real though, since it’s apparently a Mock-up Giz came up with after seeing the phone in the wild. Another interesting addition is that the report claims the device will have a Front Facing video camera, which we don’t currently find that often on US based phones. It’ll run Gingerbread and everything points out to Google giving FaceTime some competition with their own native video calls service through this next OS launch.
Given Google’s tough luck in retailing their Nexus One, we could assume these shots are of another Galaxy S variant that’ll be released in the future. Why are we having a hard time believing this report? Well because Google was already clear in that they wouldn’t give a Nexus Two a chance to exist.
Google is a very unpredictable company, so anything can change in the next couple of months, and you bet we’ll be all over it when it does.
