Telmap5 Is the First WP7 Turn-by-turn Navigation Solution

Company Telmap announced today the release of what they call “the first search, mapping and navigation solution for Windows Phone 7” based on their award-winning location-based service.

Telmap5 comes exactly two weeks after Microsoft’s launching Windows Phone 7, less than a week since the devices are available in the world (and two weeks ahead of U.S. handset availability). The application’s first launch will have Singapore’s SingTel involved and it will be showing off Telmap-based SingTel Xplorer application on the new Windows Phone 7 which will offer real-time local services like:

– in-car turn-by-turn navigation with 3D moving maps, voice and text instructions announcing street names and Points of Interest such as gas stations and parking lots along the way, a dedicated pedestrian navigation, local search and content enhanced specifically for the Windows Phone 7

– Full Singapore and Malaysia maps

– Real-time traffic information

– Cell-ID function that enables you to check your location and plan a route even when indoors.

As far as availability is concerned, Telmap is working with its customers to bring the Windows Phone 7 application “to their subscribers and more operators are expected to launch in the near future” but when exactly such a software will be available for U.S. or Europe countries is yet unknown.
