Samsung Event 11/8: Invite Hints at Verizon Continuum Launch?

Samsung will be unveiling a new Android-powered mobile device on November 8th at 6PM EST, although it’s far from clear whether this will even be a smartphone debut. While the company has already launched its Froyo-equipped Galaxy Tab, there has been no official launch of another Android device that Samsung is known to have in the works, its YP-MB2 Galaxy S-branded PMP (personal/portable media player).

The one clue that we do have is the stock ticker in the background, which suggests that Verizon-bound, Galaxy S-branded Continuum (pictured below) with its secondary OLED screen below the standard row of capacitive buttons. That lower display is being referred to as “The Ticker,” and apparently shows various types of infoswag like status updates, RSS feeds, weather conditions, etc.

However, a previous rumor had pegged the Continuum’s launch for October 29th, which by our calculations would come before November 8th this year. Rest assured that if there is any phone-related news coming out of this event, you’ll be able to read about it right here.
