Huawei Shows Off Ideos X6 and X5 Froyo Handsets
Chinese manufacturer Huawei already had their bite of the smartphone market with their budget handset Ideos which was first rumored to hit T-Mobile as the T-Mobile Comet on November 3 and then confirmed for the magenta shelves with a picture of the handset.
Looks like the Chinese manufacturer is having even bolder plans now that they recently shown off two new members of the Ideos family, the X6 and X5 which don’t seem to be on the low-end side. The Huawei Ideos X6 (pictured above) sport a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon processor with 512MB RAM and 2GB of ROM, a 4.1-inch WVGA display, a 5-megapixel camera with auto focus, flash and 720p HD video recording, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS support, WiFi connectivity, HDMI output, microSD card slot as well as FM tuner. The handset running Android 2.2 Froyo with HSPA+ capable speeds is set for an early 2011 release, with no pricing revealed.
The Huawei Ideos X5 (pictured above) is a lower spec’d handset and we currently know about an 3.8-inch WVGA display, 5-megapixel camera, WiFi and same HSPA+ speed capability. It will be operated by the same Android 2.2 Froyo platform and will be released by the end of this year but there’s no word on its pricing either.
