Where Are the Third-Party Live Tiles for WP7?

One of the biggest promises of Windows Phone 7 was that third-parties could tap into live tiles that reside on the Start screen. These live tiles would feed information to the user such as sports scores, current weather, twitter status, and much more. In fact, Microsoft’s main marketing message with Windows Phone 7 is that it’s “designed to get you in, and out, and back to life” since you get glanceable information on the Start screen.

With nearly a thousand applications in the Windows Phone 7 Marketplace, why aren’t there any apps with live tiles? Even a recent Windows Phone 7 TV ad in France briefly shows (at 0:12) a Twitter live tile that indicates to the user when he has new messages, though oddly, the official Twitter app that you can download today has no such live tile. The only live tiles that exist are built into the OS, like Calendar, email, People, and a few others. Where are the third-party live tiles? Have you seen any?
