HTC Desire HD User Guide Published, Units Shipping [Update]
A user’s manual has been published for the soon-to-be-released HTC Desire HD, set to be the company’s top-of-the-line unlocked Android handset when it hits Europe and Asia later this month. Since we’ve already seen the device’s leaked ROM — with its HTCSense.com backup/recovery service and new version of Sense — there’s not a lot in the manual that will come as a surprise to most folks, especially since these features have been well-covered on video.
One interesting tidbit we did happen to notice was the location of the battery and SIM card; for the first time that we can remember, HTC is utilizing separate compartments for the (slot-loading) 1230mAh battery and microSIM / microSD cards. There is also a reference to TV-Out in the notifications section of the manual — a feature not mentioned by any of the official spec sheets — but as Xmoo pointed out in his tweet, it could very well be used for outgoing DLNA streaming sessions.
With a 1GHz CPU, 768MB of RAM, and an eight-megapixel / 720p camera, the 4.3-inch Desire HD has been likened to an international, unlocked version of Sprint’s EVO 4G.
Update: It seems that the Desire HD has already begun shipping in some countries, with Vodafone in the Netherlands having reportedly started its rollout on Friday. (Via: HTCDesire-HD, thanks: Ed)
