HTC’s investors had solid reasons to feel optimistic with expected 10 million units sold and more than 30 worldwide partners in its portfolio, not mentioning the upcoming Windows Phone 7 launch where HTC will be one of the biggest partners bringing at least three devices to the table according to leaks and rumors.

The Taiwanese company’s profit for Q3 was around T$11.1 billion ($360 million) which is roughly double compared to last year’s Q3 numbers (T$5.695 billion). The Q2 profit reported was $268 million but the expectations are even higher with Q4 and the Windows Phone 7 game which will increase the numbers even more. If the growth compared to last year’s Q3 is attributed to Android, as Steven Tseng, RBS analyst says, “investors are comfortable with HTC’s status in the Android market, Q4 numbers will be highly influenced by Microsoft’s mobile platform launch. HTC remains the world’s no. 4 smartphone brand with strong competition from Samsung, Nokia, RIM and Apple but the Taiwanese company is having a great period as it is expected to be among the first manufacturers to release devices with Microsoft’s new mobile platform.
