Rumor: Windows Phone 7 Arrives October 11 with AT&T and T-Mobile?
There was a lot of uncertainty around October 11 and Microsoft’s event: we suspected it will represent the launch of Windows Phone 7, then “a very reliable source” hinted it will have nothing to do with Windows Phone 7 and then again hints were leading back to October 11.
However, Electronista has discovered a Microsoft events calendar that may point to October 11th as the launch date for Windows Phone 7, but pocketnow.com has not yet been able to confirm with Microsoft about the launch date. Additionally, based on the link that was discovered, T-Mobile was also mentioned as part of the agenda, which could mean that there will be not one – if up till now we knew AT&T will be the “premier carrier” for Windows Phone 7 – but two partner launch carriers as T-Mobile reps will be present for device showing and their service offering discussion.
As far as devices are concerned, Electronista believes AT&T will bring the HTC Mondrian, the LG Optimus 7 and the Samsung Cetus while the newly confirmed T-Mobile will be a proud carrier for the HTC HD7 and their version of the LG Optimus.
It’s now or never for Microsoft to prove once again they can rise above the situation and with players like Google’s Android and Apple’s iOS devices, Windows Phone 7 has to be the big thing that can either save or bury the Redmond company’s mobile platform game.
