Remember Last Year’s Microsoft Open House?

There are a lot of rumors and speculation that Microsoft is going to announce the launch of Windows Phone 7 at a big event in New York City some time in October. Most rumors point to October 11th. Well, if you dig through our archives, you might remember a similar event where Windows Phone 6.5 was announced. Back on October 6, of 2009, Microsoft had a big Open House event where Robbie Bach showed off some new Windows Phone 6.5 devices as well as a number of other things Microsoft was working on. The event space had various areas dedicated to showing off different products from Microsoft. The Windows Phone area was a big tree house full of phones, while there were other areas set up for Microsoft’s automotive systems, Xbox games, 3D Windows PC games, Office software, Windows 7, etc.

If Microsoft were to put on another event like this in October, you can imagine it would probably not be dedicated only to Windows Phone 7 since there are a lot of other great products from Microsoft coming out in the Fall as well.
