Motorola CLIQ 2 Begins Spilling its Secrets, Including UMA?
First came the Motorola CLIQ (pictured), then came the keyboard-less CLIQ XT, and now we can look forward to the CLIQ 2? That’s the word from Engadget, which has reportedly been sent a few pieces of information about this unannounced sequel supposedly headed to T-Mobile. No pictures or hard specs so far, mind you (that’s the original CLIQ you see above), just a handful of generalities that may or may not whet the appetite of the potential CLIQ: Redux consumer.
Allegedly codenamed “Begonia,” the CLIQ 2 is said to ship with Android 2.2 “Froyo” right out of the box — presumably hinting at some decent components — along with the usual MotoBlur interface enhancement. The keyboard was described as “one solid piece” with no inter-key gaps; apparently the tipster found it to be “interesting.”
Perhaps the two most interesting tidbits, at least to us: 3G hotspot support, and even better, the WiFi calling capability we’ve been hearing about quite a bit recently, further suggesting that T-Mobile is doubling down on UMA.
