Third Generation BlackBerry Storm Caught in Pics
There are now leaked pictures of the BlackBerry Storm3, which will effectively succeed the Storm 2 in the Storm franchise. The device will sport a larger 3.7-inch touchscreen display, replacing the smaller 3.2-inch SurePress display on the first two generations, 8 GB of storage, and BlackBerry OS 5 for launch it seems as the attached brochure has “5.0” underlined.
Also, it seems that the piezo electronic SurePress click screen is making a return this time as well; the brochure indicated “yang ketahanan,” which translated means resistance, according to IntoMobile. In this case, resistance means a hardware resistance indicating screen press and not resistive touchscreen technology as the first two Storms had launched with a capacitive touchscreen.
There’s no indication if LTE will be on board for this launch from the leak, or if RIM will move its screen resolution beyond HVGA to VGA or WVGA. The Storm 3 would most likely be headed towards Verizon Wireless in the U.S.; the carrier had an exclusive deal for the Storm and Storm 2.
