iOS 4.1 Exploit Should Lead to Jailbreak in Due Time

Just moments after Apple had officially released iOS 4.1 for public consumption through iTunes, hacker pod2g has announced that there is a new bootrom exploit that will make it possible for a jailbreak solution. Since this is a deeper exploit found within the bootrom, the exploit won’t be easy to fix by Apple and the Cupertino, California based company would need to release new hardware to patch future jailbreaks.

According to BGR, “We’re being told by someone who has knowledge about this exploit that in order to patch this particular bootrom hack Apple would need “a whole new processor rev.” A re-flashed or patched bootrom for the current hardware would not be sufficient.”
