QuickPay’s ROAMpay is a Device-Agnostic Credit Card Swiper

The field of mobile credit card swipers continues to get more crowded, with QuickPay Merchant Services announcing its own entrant called ROAMPpay, developed in collaboration with ROAM Data. Unlike most other peripherals, which are iPhone specific, ROAMPay promises to be device agnostic, with payment apps already available for BlackBerry and Android, along with iOS.

Still, QuickPay’s system requires an account with the company, and its press release does not make the all-important fee structure readily available. Other systems, like those from Square and Intuit/mophie, charge a flat per-transaction fee, along with taking a small percentage of the actual transaction amount. And that’s not even taking into account membership and hardware fees (neither of which were immediately clear from QuickPay’s presser, either). Any QuickPay account holders out there care to fill us in on current rates they’re seeing?
